Pakistan to play an ODI Series with Afghanistan

Pakistan to play an ODI Series with Afghanistan since a 3-match ODI series is scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka just before the start of Asia Cup.

A 3-match ODI series is scheduled to be played among Pakistan and Afghanistan from August 22 to 26 in Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

The most of the Pakistan national cricket team including Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Nawaz and others are already in Sri Lanka for the LPL league.

PCB is expected to announced the national cricket team for the series against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup in the second week of August.

Pakistan will begin training in Sri Lanka on August 17 and the first 2 matches of the ODI series will be played on August 22 and 24 in Hambantota.

Pakistan to play an ODI Series with Afghanistan and the final match of the series will be played on August 26 in Colombo.

The sources has confirmed that the national team for both the series will be announced by 10th of August.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently announced formation of a new selection committee for the announcement of the national team squad.

The new selection committee is set to announce team selection once the committee is get approved by the PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf.

Names of Misbah ul Haq, Inzamam ul Haq and Muhammad Hafeez are already announced in a committee that will help to find names for the chief selector and other members.

The names of the players for Afghanistan and Asia Cup will be finalized after consultation with the team management.

The first task of the new selection committee is to select the team for the scheduled series between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Sri Lanka and the same team will be for the Asia Cup.

The first match of the series between Pakistan and Afghanistan is scheduled on August 22 and the second on August 24.

On the other hand, for the World Cup 2023 scheduled in India, the ICC has given a deadline of August 25 to all the boards for the final announcement of the team.
