Heart Diseases quadrupled in Pakistan due to Unhygienic Food

Heart disease quadrupled in Pakistan due to Unhygienic Food as it was disclosed in the National Conference of Preventive Cardiology.

The National Conference of Preventive Cardiology (NCPC) 2023 was held to educate doctors and other medical professionals to implement the recommendations and preventive measures.

During the event, Chairman NCPC Mansoor Ahmed said that heart diseases are considered to be the leading cause of death worldwide.

It was also added that heart diseases are decreasing in the world whereas, in our region including Pakistan, the rate of the heart disease is the highest in proportion to the population.

In the recent past, heart disease has quadrupled, and the highest rate of heart disease in South Asia is in Pakistan.

It was highlighted that the key reason of increase in the heart disease is increase in Pakistan is an unhealthy diet and less physical exercise.

It was told that other reasons of heart disease are diabetes and smoking.

On the other hand, the heart treatments like angioplasty, angiography, bypass, dialysis and expensive medicines are beyond the reach of the common man.

To remain safe from heart disease, people should eat a healthy diet and regularly do a variety of physical exercises.

Medical experts believe that the heart disease can be avoided by maintaining a good healthy lifestyle from childhood and by avoiding smoking.

The heart disease is getting common in the developing countries since people are not taking preventive measures.

It was emphasized that unbalanced diet and consumption of harmful foods is causing rise in heart diseases in Pakistan, while the lack of exercise.

Pakistan is already at the first place in the world in terms of diabetes, the blood pressure rate has increase from 18% to 30% in the last 30 years.

Experts also manifested that cold drinks, and soft drinks have excess of sugar and market breads have excessive salt and these products are are major causes of heart diseases.

In Pakistan, the use of cigarettes, paan, beedi, haqqa or other situations also result in an extremely favourable situation for heart diseases.

He said that heart disease can be avoided even if you do 75 minutes of exercise in a week, it is also necessary to eat fruits and vegetables.
