Iftikhar Ahmed is required for World Cup 2023 as the former captain of Pakistan cricket team Misbah Ul Haq said that.
Misbah Ul Haq has urged that Pakistan needs a senior batter like Iftikhar Ahmed in the middle to absorb the pressure of world cup.
He said that 2023 edition of ICC World cup is being played on style of 1992 world cup and this type of format allows a team to play with every other team in the main round.
Since Pakistan, has its key matches against India, Australia, England and New Zealand and Pakistan has to win at least two of these four key fixtures.

Misbah said that Pakistan can’t rely on young players since they have less experience and they will not be able to absorb the pressure of World Cup matches.
He also said that Ifitkar is currently the most reliable and senior player in middle-order of Pakistan’s ODI cricket team and can handle the pressure well.
Iftikhar also has been a middle-order batsman with Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League, is affectionately referred to as “Chacha-e-Cricket” in Pakistani cricket circles.
In an interview, Iftikhar praised Misbah highly, both personally and as a player, saying that he has always regarded him as a role model.
Ifitkar mentioned that Misbah was his ideal captain and they had the chance to play together while they were both working for SNG Oil.
