Ben Stokes comes out of Retirement for World Cup 2023 as the hero of ICC Men’s World Cup 2019 has decided to come out of his retirement and participate in the ICC World Cup 2023, in India.

Renowned all-rounder, Ben Stokes has reversed his retirement from the ODI format to represent England in the upcoming World Cup 2023 in India.

The England’s Test captain has decided to play the 50-over format in World Cup 2023.

Moreover, he has decided to postpone the surgery on the left knee and to play in the World Cup as a specialist batter.

The head coach, Matthew Mott, expressed his desire for Stokes and fast bowler, Jofra Archer, to be part of the side for World Cup 2023.

Mott stated that the management is trying their best to convince Ben Stokes to play the mega event and representing England to defend the title.

“I have always said his bowling would be a bonus for the England team, but just look at what he brings with the bat and even in the field,” Mott added.

It is pertinent to mention that Ben Stokes announced retirement from ODI cricket in July 2022 and announced to continue Test cricket.

The all-rounder decided to get retired from the 50-over format to focus on red-ball cricket and his captaincy.

A few months back, in a question regarding his possible return to the team for the World Cup, Ben said, “I remain retired from ODIs and will not reverse it.”
