BMW introduces Electric Bicycles named e-bike are modern electric vehicle (EVs) that can change the problems of riders in modern age when petrol prices are getting higher and higher.

BMW recently showed off not one, but two e-bike concepts: an electric bicycle to travel inside the city and an electric-bike to travel outside the city.

BMW introduces a duel mode bicycle that is not only pedal-assisted but also fitted with a 2,000Wh battery. This battery is “fast charging” and it can travel up to to 300 kilometers or 186 miles on average.

There are other models of e-bike available in Europe at least, fast e-bikes known as speed-pedelecs that are capable of going 45km/h.

These modern vehicles are designed according to the ‘Motorrad Vision’, that is assisted with a throttle and footrests like a traditional motor-bike.

These e-bikes have three speed modes each for a different types of roads. BMW introduces Electric Bicycles named e-bike with the modern features.

The first mode is for bike paths and it provides bike speed up to 25km/h and the second mode of for within city roads and it provides speed up to 45km/h.

The third mode is for the multi-lane roads outside the city where there are no city limits and it provide speed up to 60km/h.

The BMW bikes are also fitted with proximity radar to alert the rider with a rear-approaching vehicle with a visual and acoustic warning.

Currently, these e-bike vehicles only exist as concepts for now. But what’s interesting is BMW’s inclusion of speed enforcement using geofencing.

Similarly, the S-pedelec riders are capable of moderating their speeds to ride alongside ordinary bicycles, some choose not to, creating an unsafe disparity.

BMW uses the ‘eDrive Zone’s concept for the safe driving that automatically switches the cars into all-electric driving mode when entering certain parts of the cities marked as low emission zones.

Evs are getting popular for the last a few years not only due to the price hikes of petrol but also to ensure zero carbon emission.

A few example are Tesla‘s EV and Chinese BYD.
