Air pollution can hurt Insects life since a recent study has shown alarming and life threating results for the insects especially bees, butterflies, grasshoppers, etc.
It is told in the study that Air pollution can reduce the number of insects globally by weakening their ability to find food and remain sustainable.
In a recent study at the University of Melbourne, Beijing Forestry University and the University of California Davis, a team of researchers did set of experiments to find impact of air pollution on insects.
It was found in the study that the pollution emitted from industry, transport, forest fires and other sources cause serious air pollution and it also damage the antennae of insects that ultimately impairs insect’s ability to find food.

The University of Melbourne’s team of professors has recently published a study in Nature Communications, the research warns of a clear threat to human populations of insect populations.
Professor Mark Elgar said: “We know that particulate matter affects the health of organisms, including insects.
The research suggests that air pollution also weakens the sense of smell, which is vital for insects to find food, which can lead to a decline in their population.
Many insects play an important role in the decomposition of plants, including all the crops we depend on for food, and in breaking down decaying material and recycling components, he said.
It was also investigated that in the areas affected by the forest fires in rural Victoria, Australia, the antennae of various insects were found damaged by the smoke particles.
