Famous Pakistani cartoonist Nigar Nazar is awarded with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in a ceremony of Pakistan Day held in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad, on Thursday, 23 March 2023.

Nigar Nazar is a famous female cartoonist from Pakistan. She born in 1953 and she belongs to Karachi, Pakistan.

One of the most best-known and famous work is a female cartoon character known as ‘Gogi’.

The character ‘Gogi’ is an urban Pakistani woman struggling with her problem in the context of various social issues such as feminism and gender based social norms.

The character was created to educate people about social and educational problems that are being faced by a common Pakistani women.

Nigar Nazar is founder and CEO of the Gogi Studios, based in Karachi Pakistan.

Nigar is also a well-known painter. Her Quid-e-Azam portrait became very famous and popular in the recent past.

President Dr. Arif Alvi chaired the prestigious ceremony of Pakistan Day that was held on Thursday, 23 March 2023 in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.

Total 135 people were awarded with various awards and honours like Pride of performance, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, etc.

The President’s Award for Pride of Performance was conferred Ms. Nigar Nazar in recognition of her wonderful services in the field of Art (Cartoonist).

In 1997, UNESCO awarded her with the Booruker prize for her social work in Kyrgyzstan based orphanage.
