Yasir Shah returns for tests in Sri Lanka as Pakistan are set to tour Sri Lanka in July for two Tests that will be part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle, with the veteran Yasir Shah return for tests in Sri Lanka.

Uncapped Agha Salman also included in the squad for the Sri Lanka tests. Zahid Mahmood and Sajid Khan are not selected in the team for Sri Lanka tour.

Both of the teams have had a mixed results so far in the World Test Championship. Pakistan drew away against West Indies 1-1 before a mighty comeback against Bangladesh.

They then fell short in the series against Australia, losing 0-1 at home ground.

Yasir, 36, was instrumental to Pakistan’s success in red-ball cricket over the last few years before injuries forced him on the sidelines. He last played a Test in August 2021.

Yasir shah returns for tests after at least 2 years.

Pakistan will arrive on 6 July and will play a three-day warm-up game in Colombo ahead of the WTC23 series.

However, he has now earned his place back in the side for the upcoming trip to Sri Lanka, where Pakistan will play two WTC23 Tests, starting from 16 July.
