Rebranding of Nokia in 2023 has been announced by current CEO of Nokia as he is looking for a strategy shift that is named as “Reset, accelerate and skill”.

Nokia is planning its future plans with Microsoft and Amazon. Nokia has also changed its iconic logo and has recently unveiled its new logo.

With Nokia still being recognised as a company which once sold sturdy mobile phones, the Finnish multinational sought the help of Lippincott to use brand to change dated perception.

Lippincott hoped the redesign would clearly signal Nokia’s revised purpose as a company that is now a pioneering tech innovation leader.

Outside of the Pixel 3a, there really are no mid range phones that can boast this level of software support in the Android landscape. HMD has rebuilt a reputation off of this especially in key markets in Europe where the Nokia name still has incredible value.

In the coming quarters, Nokia would rapidly lose market share because the company’s response to the iPhone was one of arrogance and complacency. Rebranding of Nokia in 2023 has been the solution for Nokia.

Much like Microsoft and BlackBerry, Nokia felt that they have sold millions of phones and that there was no reason to adapt to a newcomer to the space like Apple was at the time. Of course, history showed that this was a mistake.

The Symbian OS that Nokia was shipping on phones at the time just seemed antiquated in comparison to the iPhone. While Symbian was very functional, it just felt like it was rooted in the past.

There was something that needed to be done as Nokia was losing market share to Apple and Samsung at an alarming rate. The company tried to pivot to a new OS called MeeGo that was based off of Linux that seemed very promising.

The company unveiled the Nokia N9 that really seemed like a compelling alternative to what the company was doing.

In many ways, this operating system was ahead of its time as it featured a lot of touch gestures and a button-less interface that has become commonplace on iOS and Android these days.

The unfortunate part of this was that despite a well received reception of the phone and operating system, Nokia was not committed to this platform.

They have fully leaned into the Finnish design aesthetics that the company used to be famous for. A modern Nokia phone is built well, with smart industrial design that is functional above all else. Rebranding of Nokia in 2023.

Reset, accelerate and skill – new strategy by Nokia

It is with this continuing advancement in mind that the company has announced some of its next generation hardware from the super entry level Nokia 1.3 to the premium mid range Nokia 8.3.

All of these devices share a strong design language from a company that is now known for this.

Devices that are functional and not priced in the stratosphere. The 8.3 in particular just shows off the heritage of Nokia in the way that it is designed to mimic the Northern Lights in Scandinavia. It is truly refreshing to see that Nokia is indeed back.

Nokia was a free agent in many ways, and Windows Phone won out as the exclusive software provider for Nokia phones. Rebranding of Nokia in 2023 has been welcomed by the tech sectors.
