Pakistan ranked up in Google Apps Download list

Pakistan ranked up in Google Apps Download list as Pakistan’s app and game developers are at number 16 in the list of most download apps.

Google has admitted that Pakistan is emerging as a fast progressing market in the field of gaming and apps.

A country level event “Think Apps” was organized supported by Google and it was the and largest offline event on apps and games in Lahore.

In this national event, more than 500 developers participated besides business and industrial leaders from all over the country.

The key purpose of the event was to educate how to present Pakistan-made apps and games to the world.

Google has appreciated the quality work done by Pakistani developers since now Pakistan developers are ranked 16 in apps downloads.

This event was providing a platform game developers and Gaming Growth Lab and it was held for the first time in Pakistan in 2022.

Through this platform, Google is working with more than 1,600 developers in Pakistan and trained 50 gaming studios to compete globally.

Google has also trained more than 5,000 cloud developers and more than 3,000 Android developers to build capacity through community-led programs.

Since, last couple of years, Pakistan has gained a strong foothold in the global gaming and app market.

In the last a few years, Pakistan is ranked up in the international apps economy since Pakistani developers are now ranked 16th in terms of app downloads in 2023, whereas they were at number 27th in 2018.

There was a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 percent from 2018 to 2020 and in 2022, Pakistani developer’s apps were downloaded for 4 billion times worldwide.

In 2022, around 65 apps built by 24 local developers reached the top 10 rankings in both the Play Store and the App Store.

Google is expanding its support for the apps industry in Pakistan through ThinkApps so that local developers can get in-depth knowledge and trends from global experts.
