Government of Pakistan very well realizes the rapid growth in the sector of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the world. To meet the modern needs, Ministry of Information Technology has planned and National Policy.

Ministry of IT and Telecom is looking to the AI Policy as a pivotal milestone for transforming Pakistan into a knowledge-based economy.

The recently rolled out AI national policy defines a national strategy to establish an ecosystem that is compulsory and necessary for AI adoption in all the fields of life.

This policy will harness an agile framework to address different aspects of unique user journeys encompassing different market horizontals and industry verticals by ensuring responsible use of AI.

The Ministry of IT and Telecom has invited the experts to share their feedback on DRAFT NATIONAL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE POLICY at [email protected]. The last date to submit feedback is 16th June, 2023.

Ministry of IT and Telecommunication is also forming a Policy Committee that will lead the policy consultation process and finalize the draft of National AI Policy.

The Policy Committee will comprise of experts from industry, academia and Govt. Ministry of IT&T encourages top experts in the field of AI from Industry and Academia to become part of this Policy committee.

Pakistan’s progress has been a little slower while attaining new achievements in particular areas like artificial intelligence and machine learning but there are some notable accomplishments.

Pakistan has created artificial intelligence (AI) technology to calculate COVID danger. NUST (National University of Sciences & Technology) is now ranked as Pakistan’s finest university for providing high-quality AI education on a competitive basis.
