Middle East Smartphone Sale grows in 2022

Middle East smartphone sale grows in 2022 by 6%. Apple and Samsung both continue to be the leading brands with highest sale in the recent times.

The market trends show that both Samsung and Apple are gaining its position. In the smartphone market both are leading with more supply and marketing investment.

Contrary to above, emerging brands are still facing challenges to motivate buyers and get more sale in the recent times.

The emerging brands including Realme, Infinix, Xiaomi, and Oppo still need to learn from their current experiences. They will continue to struggle in the market in the next quarter of 2023.  

The recent statistics by Canalys show that Samsung exceeds its sale up to 40% in 2022 in comparison to its sale in 2021 that was 34%.

The significant increase of 6% in sale, make Samsung to stand tall at the top of the list. Middle East smartphone sale grows in 2022 up to 6%.

Similarly, Apple exceeded its sale up to 17% in 2022 in comparison to its sale in 2021 that was 13%.

Other emerging brands improved their sale such as Xiaomi improved 14% to 15%, and Transsion improved 13% to 15%.

However, another emerging company Oppo faced 1% decrease in sale in 2022 that fell to 4% in 2022 from 5% in 2021.

It is anticipated by the market gurus that 2023 will bring a favorable business environment, supported by buoyant energy prices, recycling of the funds from oil towards reform programs in each country.

Experts presume that there will be more collaboration with smartphone brands on flagship 5G smartphone launches to increase average revenue per user. 

The regional competition remains stiff in the coming years, especially for emerging brands.

The players with better inventory management capability and channel relationships will stand out in the upcoming quarters.

Smartphone vendors should focus on organized retail – the most critical channel for consumers to experience newer products and technology.

This is critical for the market challengers to have a significant store presence to stand out in brand awareness and win more consumers.
