iOS 17 to exhibit “smart-home display” feature as Apple is going to introduce a few major updates in its forthcoming iOS 17 software.

According to Bloomberg Apple is going to introduce an updated Lock Screen interface in iOS 17 that will turn the iPhone into a “smart-home display” and will make it more immersive and effective.

In iOS 17 update, Apple wants to make iPhones more useful when it is not in use and it is placed on a table or nightstand.

In his recent talk, Gurman revealed that the new intended display view will present users’ data such as calendar appointments, the weather, notifications, etc. in the form of a smart-home display.

He also disclosed that this new feature will have a darker background and relatively brighter text to increase the legibility and easiness in reading for the users.

In iOS 16, the lock screen just shows a clock based always-on lock screen. According to reports, , the experience will be similar with a portrait orientation.

It is also revealed that the real-time lyrics will be introduced via the Apple Music app on the Lock Screen.

It is expected that users will be to have more customizable controls for the Lock Screen, that will be enhance the usability of the display.

It is also in reports that the Apple Maps widget will also be added at the Lock Screen. Such feature will make the Live Activity feature easier to navigate while browsing through other apps.
