Jashn-e-Jaun Elia 2023 held at Lahore Arts Council to pay tribute to the late poets Jaun Elia and Amjad Islam Amjad.
A Three day colourful event presenting full of living legends’ view to pay tribute the legendary poet of Pakistan Jaun Elia.
Ishqabad and Lahore Arts Council Alhamra were main curators of Jashn-e-Jaun Elia 2023 and was held at Alhamra Hall.
Minister for Information and Culture Punjab, Amir Mir, and the Secretary of Information and Culture Punjab, Ali Nawaz Malik were the chief guests of this literary event.

This event offered a wide range of engaging sessions on literature and journalism for three days.
Jaun Elia’s original name was Syed Sibt-e-Asghar Naqvi and he was born in Amroha, India, in 1931.
He opened his eyes in a famous literary Indian family and one of the famous names from his family was Kamal Amrohi, a Bollywood director.
After partition, Jaun Elia moved to Karachi after the partition of the subcontinent. In 2002, Elia passed away, though he left an immense influence on modern society due to his unique and modern flavour of Urdu poetry.
Jaun is well known for his wit, appealing flavour, modern poetry, and unique delivery on stage
Various sessions were organized presenting a tribute to late poet Amjad Islam Amjad and several events inspired by Jaun Elia’s work.

The discussion sessions were held to to cover diverse topics like Urdu Ghazal, fiction, storytelling, soulful Punjabi poetry and the Indus Valley Civilisation.
Renowned and famous media figures like Sohail Warraich, Sohail Ahmed, Yasir Pirzada, Atbaf Abrak, Muhammad Izharul Haq, Muhammad Salimur Rahman, and others will shared their insights.
The popular literary personalities like Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Iftikhar Arif, Kishwar Naheed, and Manawar Saeed also participated in the opening session of the event.
