Airpods Sale dropped in 2022 as the smart personal audio devices are facing drop in sale up to 26% that got more serious in Q4 2022.

The recent macroeconomic conditions and cautiously controlled inventory levels throughout the year since first quarter of 2022, the vendors were already expecting a grim market.

In year 2022, Xiaomi faced 34% decrease in sale, Skullcandy faced 15% decrease in sale, Samsung faced 10% decrease in sale of the smart personal audio devices.

The highest decline in sale of the smart personal audio devices was seen in Q4 of 2022. Apple faced 30% decline, Samsung faced 24% decline, Xiaomi faced 49% decline, and boAt faced 15% decline.

In Q4 2022, Oppo was the only company that enjoyed 11% increase in the sale of the smart personal audio devices in comparison to the other major contenders that faced huge decline.

The scenario became more worsened by the overall TWS market performance in Q4 2022 as shipments were kept to a minimum. There was over all 1% decrease in Asia Pacific’s sale, excluding China.

Additionally, the largest TWS market in India just maintained growth at a flattened rate of 5%, that is a clear signal that the market is reaching to its peak.

The decline rate in Western Europe and North America’s market was modest, and market share remained stable.

However, the emerging markets in Latin America and Southeast Asia, which were once seen as potential growth areas, didn’t live up to expectations due to the impact of the weakened market environment.

The report by Canalys highlighted that the highest decline in sale of the smart personal audio devices was seen in Q4 of 2022. Apple faced 30% decline, Samsung faced 24% decline, Xiaomi faced 49% decline, and boAt faced 15% decline. The report also reported that in Q4 2022, Oppo was the only company that enjoyed 11% increase in the sale of the smart personal audio devices in comparison to the other major contenders that faced huge decline.

The sale of the smart personal audio devices and Airpods sale dropped in 2022 is also alarming for the industry in 2023 as well. The Canalys has predicted that this decline will continue in 2023, as well.
