Masses protest in Pakistan after Imran Khan arrested

Masses protest in Pakistan after Imran Khan arrested as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman on Tuesday was arrested in Al-Qadir trust case.

Immediately after the arrest, masses all over Pakistan erupted on roads and started protesting against this action of the goverment.

Violent protests immediately erupted all over Pakistan on Tuesday after Imran Khan was arrested as he appeared before the Islamabad High Court.

To deal the protests, Police fired tear gas and water cannon to disperse Khan’s supporters in Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, etc.

Masses protest in Pakistan after Imran Khan arrested and the protesters blocked roads in the capital Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and other cities.

According to the reports, the PTI workers damaged public property and set police vehicles on fire in Karachi, Lahore, and several other cities after the party called on supporters to “shut down Pakistan” over his arrest. 

The Government of Pakistan has announced to close all the public-sector and private institutes including universities colleges and schools to be remained close for next 3 days.

What is Al-Qadir Trust Case?

Al Qadir trust was registered in 2018. The aim of this trust was to work for the welfare and wellbeing of human beings.

The Al-Qadir Trust Case involves Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and their close aides Zulfiqar Bukhari and Babar Awan, who formed the Al-Qadir Project Trust.

The trust was used to establish the Al-Qadir University in Sohawa, Jhelum, Punjab, Pakistan.

The aim of establishing the university was to research on Islam and provide quality education on Islam.
