Starlink broadband to open in Pakistan as the world known satellite broadband service has been officially registered in Pakistan for operation.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) of Pakistan has confirmed this agreement with Elon Musk, the owner of Starlink satellite broadband.

The Starlink satellite broadband internet facility will be useful for the remote and rural areas, where fast internet was not accessible, before.

In 2020, there were 25.0% of the population of Pakistan that were internet users. It means currently there are more than 450 million internet users in Pakistan.

Starlink company claims that Starlink can provide high-speed broadband internet to the remote and wide locations where access has been unreliable or completely unavailable.

Such satellite based communication internet can be highly useful and beneficial in the case of emergencies like earthquakes, floods, tsunami, wars, etc.

The contract was signed in a meeting of Ryan Goodnight, Global Director SpaceX and Pakistan’s official Syed Aminul Haq, Federal Minister Of Information Technology and Communication.

The agenda of the meeting was to explore how Starlink’s fastest and cheapest satellite internet services will change the overall way of providing affordable broadband services in every corner of Pakistan.

It is revealed that Elon Musk’s Starlink asked potential subscribers to pay a refundable deposit as a pre-order for service/equipment. However, PTA asked officials to stop taking pre-order bookings.

The Minister expressed his optimism that inactive mobile towers could be inexpensively activated even in remote locations.

Starlink’s services will significantly lower the operational costs of telecom operators.

Starlink is one of the largest international broadband services provides as they have around 2,000 satellites which serve a regular customer of nearly 10,000 spread around 20 countries.

Though the initiative will help boost Pakistan’s telecom sector and will help provide excellent service in affording ale rates for regular customers.
