In the last two years, Sony has published three first-party PS4 games on PC, which helped the company make $80 million in PC net sales for fiscal 2021.

For the year 2022, Sony is estimating that PC sales will hit $300 million.

Ryan added that “We have big plans for FY22 and beyond with exponential growth anticipated in the year just begun”.

By 2025, the company is aiming on operating 12 live service franchises.

He elaborated, “This represents the biggest opportunity, but also the biggest challenge to growing the size of the PlayStation community to something significantly bigger than what we enjoy today”.

Sony has been extremely active in mergers and acquisitions when it announced it was buying Destiny developer Bungie for $3.6 billion.

The move by Sony introducing PlayStation games to PC and mobile will bring more revenue to the company.

Ryan went on to say that investing in PC and mobile could lead to “significant growth in the number of people who play our games, the number of people who enjoy our games, and the number of people who spend money on our games.”

Sony’s presentation suggest the company is already reaping the benefits of bringing titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, and God of War to PC, with net sales on the platform more than tripling from $80 million last year to a forecast $300 million in 2022.

Sony has been vocal about its plans to bring more titles to PC; launching a PlayStation PC label and even acquiring a PC port developer last year.
