Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar awarded with Sitar-e-Imtiaz in a ceremony of Pakistan Day held in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad, on Wednesday, 23 March 2022.
Prof. Dr. Engr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry is a well known researcher in Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Sindh.
In honour of his services in academia and research, he was awarded with Pakistan’s third highest civil award Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
Dr. Shankar is a renowned Pakistani ICT Professional and an electronics engineer.
He has been serving as the Meritorious Professor at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamashoro, Sindh, Pakistan.
In 1983, he completed his BE in the Electronic engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro.
Afterwards, he completed his Ph.D. in Intelligent Instrumentation from the school of Electronics and Computer Science University of Southampton, the UK in 1990.
In 2008, Dr. Shankar did his Postdoc from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, sponsored by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. HEC has been providing its services for training of leaders in academia in Pakistan.
