Beyond Good and Evil 2 is one of many games currently rumored to have an uncertain development status, with current estimates alleging that the title has been worked on for over a decade.

With many fans now all but ready to hear that the upcoming RPG has been canceled, it seems Ubisoft is still firmly in the belief that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will release, even mentioning it in a recent annual Q&A meeting.

While it isn’t exactly surprising that the game came up in conversation, some fans will be pleased to hear what Ubisoft said about it.

According to Ubisoft, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently included in a list of announced projects that are in active development.

Previously, Ubisoft has confirmed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is in the works, but to hear that it is in active development suggests that the game has not been postponed, which has some fans believing that Ubisoft is gearing up for an announcement on the title.

“For those wondering, Ubisoft mentioned Beyond Good & Evil 2 today during the Q&A of its annual meeting (no surprises, all resolutions passed). The company included it in a list of announced projects that are in active development. It’s still alive.” said Stephen Totilo on Twitter.

Early in 2022, a job listing had some fans believing that it could be in its final stages of development. While that does seem like quite the optimistic view, especially with the implication of Ubisoft stating the game is in active development meaning there is work to be done,

It doesn’t seem entirely out of the question for some of this content to be on its way. Whether that is in the form of a cinematic trailer, gameplay, or something else, many will merely be pleased to know the game isn’t on the edge of being canceled.

With a Ubisoft Forward presentation on the way in September 2022, this could be the perfect time for Beyond Good and Evil 2 news to drop.

Even if there isn’t anything ready to show off the game, so long as Ubisoft confirms that it is still being worked on, fans can put cancellation fears aside for now.
