Dell will be discontinuing Dell and Alienware Mobile Connect services

Dell to discontinue Mobile Connect services for Dell and Alienware. It is announced that The apps will no longer be available for download as early as the end of July, and the discontinuation is then scheduled for the end of November 2022.

Although, the apps can be continued to use the programs until the regional discontinuation date.

In this country, the app can no longer be downloaded after July 31 and can no longer be used after November 30, but in the U.S., Canada, and Japan, support won’t end until January 31, 2023.

Dell Mobile Connect is software introduced in January 2018 that is available on all Bluetooth-enabled Inspiron, Vostro, G-Series, Alienware, and Consumer XPS devices running Windows 10 or later. This software requires the Dell Mobile Connect or Alienware Mobile Connect Companion app to create a wireless PC smartphone integration.

The app allows you to remotely interact with your cell phone from your computer to answer text messages, make and receive phone calls, and more. Dell to discontinue Mobile Connect services.

The manufacturer doesn’t reveal why the apps and services are being discontinued. However, they recommend uninstalling Dell Mobile Connect or Alienware Mobile Connect from your Dell computer and mobile device by the regional discontinuation date.

“This frees up storage space and ensures an optimal device experience,” writes Dell. Also from the cell phone, the particular app should be removed nevertheless please until the setting.

Microsoft offers Phone Link, a very similar app for Windows operating systems, but unlike Dell’s software, it only works with Android smartphones.

This was already introduced in January 2022 and offers a similar range of functions. Interestingly, Screenovate is the developer responsible for the Intel app, who was also responsible for Dell Mobile Connect and Alienware Mobile Connect and was bought by Intel last year.
