Famous Film star Anjuman received Pride of Performance in a ceremony of Pakistan Day held on Thursday, 23 March 2023 in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
President Dr. Arif Alvi chaired the prestigious ceremony of Pakistan Day that was held on Thursday, 23 March 2023 in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
Total 135 people were awraded with various awards and honours. Film star Anjuman received Pride of Performance.
The President’s Award for Pride of Performance was conferred Ms. Anjum Shaheen (famously known as Anjuman) in recognition of her wonderful services in the field of Art (Acting).
Anjuman Shaheen is Pakistan’s famous film actress and renowned singer. She has done playback singing in a few films as well.
In 1970s and 1980, she was one of the most successful Punjabi film heroines of Pakistani movies.
Anjuman was born in Bahawalpur and her parents were resident of Ahmadpur East, a small tehsil of District Bahwalpur.
However, ther were moved to Multan and settled there. Anjuman was also brought up in Multan and got his early education from Multan.
She moved to Lahore for her filmi career
Anjuman’s filmi career was splendid that spanned over almost 20 years. She appeared in more than 300 Punjabi and Urdu films.
She appeared with almost every hero of her time but her couple with Sultan Rahi got super hit and popular that she appeared more than 50 movies with Sultan Rahi.
Anjuman’s first marriage wit with Mubeen Malik, an Income-Tax commissioner in Lahore. However, Mubeen Malik was murdered in 2013.
In 2019, She got married again to with Waseem Lucky Ali.
She won Nigar Award for five times in her career as in 1981, 1982, 1986, 1990, and 1999.
She also received 21st Lux Style Awards as life time achievement award in 2022 for her unforgettable services to Pakistan film industry.
